One parent/guardian will sit on the field with their graduate and will have the privilege of presenting the diploma to their child.
We are required to cap the number of participants to a level that can be managed in the outdoor venue to maximize social distancing, both during the event and during entry and exit. With this in mind each graduate will receive five (5) tickets to distribute at their discretion, four in the bleachers and one on the field.
Marked stadium seating for maintaining physical distancing of a minimum of 6 feet apart will be assigned prior to the ceremony. In order to maximize physical distancing, the stage will be facing the east end zone and both home and visitor bleachers will be utilized.
Per TEA guidelines, prior to attending the ceremony, participating students and attending family members must be screened (via questioning) by GVISD employees for any signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19. **Those found with any signs or symptoms must be excluded from the activity**
GVISD will “live stream” the ceremony for those unable to attend.
We will be sharing more details of our graduation plan once it is complete and it meets all TEA and local health requirements. Be on the lookout for future information.
Senior scholarships will be presented via video on the GVISD homepage on May 29th.
