    Hello, Parents and Students!

    This page is an overview of what the assignments are each week, for each subject.  You will click on each of our class pages, on the left of your screen, for detailed instructions of each assighment. Thank you for working so hard and doing your best.  You can email us at anytime with questions, or just to share something good! We miss you!

  • WEEK OF 5/18 - 5/22

    Welcome back!!  We hope you have had an amazing weekend!!  It is hard believe this is our last week of assignments!  We are so proud of all of you for doing your best and getting your work done each week!  

     

    Next week, 5/25 - 5/29, is the last week of school.  Monday and Friday are school holidays.  The rest of the week will be days to catch up on any assignments you may be behind in.

    Social Studies:

    Monday-Preview week 28-31 newspapers and choose 1 you would like to read this week.

    Tuesday- Read pg 1 of the newspaper you chose. Draw a picture and write a sentence about the main idea of the article in your notebook.

     Wednesday- Read pgs 2 and 3 of the newspaper. 

    Thursday- Write 5 interesting facts that you learned this week in your notebook.

    Friday-Complete Crossword Puzzle.

    To find the assignments for Reading, on the left side of the page under the house icon, will be the 'my classes' icon.  It looks like 3 people standing together. You can get to your Reading Study Island assignments if you click on that icon.
    You should be doing your work under the "Practice" tab. The "Lesson" tab helps you to understand what is being taught.

    Monday- May, 18, 2020- Measuring Angles-Lesson 14-5 (in your math book), pgs, 785-787. You will use your protractor for this lesson. Read directions carefully!

    Tuesday- May 19, 2020- Measuring Angles- Lesson 14-5 (in your math book), only do pg. 789. You will use the protractor for this lesson.

    Wednesday- May 20, 2020- Practice 60 Second Sweep for multiplication practice.

    Thursday- May 21, 2020- Make Angle Book using your protractor. You will draw a variety of angles with different degrees. Make sure you read directions carefully on how to use the protractor to make an angle on page, 785. You can also let your parents help you. Try to make angles that are different. For example: 90 degrees, 15 degrees, 120, 85, 70, 65, 40, 135, 170. Make as many as you want. 

    Friday- May 22, 2020- Finish making Angle Book.

    Read the following articles in week 26 newspaper and answer the questions in your notebook.

    Monday-Read “Railroads Steam Texas into the Future”. In what ways did the railroad improve the lives of Texans?

    Tuesday- Read “Railroads Bring Boom to Texas” 

     Wednesday- Divide a sheet of paper in half in your notebook. Label one side “Texas Before Railroads.” Label the other side “Texas After Railroads.” Draw pictures comparing and contrasting Texas. Label the pictures with sentences to explain your ideas.

    Thursday- Read other articles in the newspaper and start working on the crossword puzzle.

    Friday-Complete crossword puzzle.

    These are this week's math assignments on Study Island. At the end of the week, you should have completed 15 lessons that I have assigned. Boys and girls, I am checking to make sure that you are completing the assignment. Please let me know if you are haing trouble finding the assignment. I would be glad to help you. Also, make sure that you are using scratch paper to work out problems and not guessing, or your scores will be low! Redo assignments if you do not pass with a 70%.
