Grandview High School
This is the voice message that was left on Friday, March 27th at 2:00 pm
On Monday, March 30th GHS will begin remote learning, however, this doesn’t necessarily equate to exclusive online instruction as one might think. At this time we are using different online and electronic avenues to disperse assignments to students through Google Classroom or Canvas, group texting apps Remind 101 or GroupMe, or by email to parents or students. Our teachers have been contacting students and parents this week in an attempt to determine which delivery method is best. Additionally, if a student doesn’t have the ability to access their assignments in one of these ways we have prepared paper packets. Pickup for these packets will take place between 9:00 and 11:00 on Monday at the main entrance of the high school. If you are coming to pick up a packet please display the name of your student on a sheet of paper or card in your front windshield. Please know that at this time, only GVISD employees are allowed inside buildings.
We have only prepared packets for students who told their teachers that they did not have online or electronic access. If your child is using Google classroom with their teachers, you do not need to come to pick up a packet.
We have activated student email accounts for High School students. These student email accounts will be used to help with student/teacher communication. The students can access their new email accounts by going to www.gvisd.org/classlink and choose the Gmail icon. They will log in to the class link page using their current student google account provided by the district. If your student has issues with logging in you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for a password reset. The student email accounts are restricted to only emails within the district.
They can also use their class link page to access other school resources that are available to them.
On the GHS website we have posted a master list of contact information and codes for Google Classroom, Remind 101 and GroupMe.
We greatly appreciate your patience and flexibility as we navigate these unprecedented times together.
