Welcome to Grandview Elementary! It is a perfect day to be a ZEBRA! Grandview Elementary is a National Blue Ribbon School! This is one of the highest recognitions a school can earn in the nation! Grandview Elementary is a 2017-2018 TEA – 4 Star Distinction Designation school earning distinctions in math, reading/ELA, postsecondary readiness, and top 25% closing performance gaps! Way to go Zebras! Grandview Elementary is also a Texas Honor Roll campus for the 3rd year straight.
I am very proud to be the principal at Grandview Elementary. This is my eighth year as principal. Just a little background on me – this will be my 29th year in education. The first 11 years in Cleburne teaching 4th grade and G/T. The next 17 years here in Grandview as a 4th grade teacher, district librarian, assistant principal and principal. Each year brings new challenges and goals that make the year exciting.
We currently house 590 Pre-K through 5th grade students with special programs such as Title 1, 504, G/T, dyslexia, and special education. We are proud to offer ZZ Skippers – jump rope demonstration team and the Zebra Strings - violins. Both organizations have won many awards and traveled from Branson to Africa to Idaho and all around. UIL academics are a major focus in the fall. We have won district competition for over 30 years straight and proud of what our staff and students do each year! Each grade has a special reading program including Bluebonnet, Read Across Texas, and Genre Reading. Capturing Kids Hearts and Champions of Character programs run through the hallways and classrooms of our school.
With support from our PTO, parents, school board, administration and community, our year here at Grandview Elementary will be the best ever! We are always changing, growing, and welcoming to all that enter. Please feel free to come and visit me (if you can catch me) or call. Again – I am excited and proud to be your principal of the best elementary school around!
