I
f you child is going to be a sophomore.  They will need to go to Hill College and take the ACCUPLACER regardless of their TAKS scores.    Juniors and Seniors may be exempt from placement testing based on their TAKS scores if they score 2200 in ELA and a 3 on the Writing and a 2200 in Math they will be exempt.  If they do not have this combination on TAKS they will need to take the ACCUPLACER.  You could also be exempt if you made a 19 on Verbal, 19 on Math and a 20 composite on the ACT or 500 on verbal, 500 on math and a 1070 on SAT.

The test center number is 254-582-2555 ext 296 @ Hillsboro and 817-641-9887 ext 300 @ Cleburne.

You will need to take a photo ID with you.  The cost of the test is $39.00, I recommend that your student take all of the sections because once they pass they will not have to take this test again.  You will also need your social security number.

The ACCUPLACER needs to be completed no later than June 30th.  A copy of the ACCUPLACER scores must be brought to the high school and well as a copy needs to be taken to admissions at Hill College.  We do not have access to them other wise.  When the students take the test ask the test administrator for two copies,   immediately take one to the admission window at Hill College and bring the other one to me at the high school.

If you have any questions about college testing requirements, please call the Hill College Counseling Center at (254) 582-2555, ext. 217.
