I think art is a feeling of something that someone put down on a piece of paper example if there's a really scribbled on picture it probably means they were exited or maybe mad, but if the picture is pretty it probably means they were very calm and sometimes you may just not be sure and if the artist isn't dead ask him or her but even better if there not available or dead imagine what you think it is!
